BBK Love
Wednesday, September 30, 2009
A simple visit to Vision R today turned out to be a purchase of these babys...
Quote taken from CBRD themselves in regards to their turbos Utilizing the Stock EVO IX turbo housing with larger internals creates a stealthy but potent turbo upgrade. Originally developed because of the demand of our walk-in clients asking for a stock housing street/road race turbo that is readily available. The BBK is a fantastic upgrade for those running pump gas in the 22-29psi boost range. This turbo was developed with our technical partners at Blouch Turbo (who also produce many of our hybrid t3 and t4 turbos, and subaru turbos) but is available exclusively through CBRD. With less boost taper than a stock IX turbo and more flow, both combinations deliver a significant punch for any street/track car. The BBK is offered in a LITE version which is a compressor upgrade only. Utilizing a lightweight aerodynamic Billet 47lbs min compressor wheel, this turbo spools incredibly quick making it a fantastic auto-x and street turbo. It has produced 400+whp on our dyno with the right supporting mods. The boost response between gears is actually quicker than stock. I would generally expect an EVO IX with basic bolt-ons (intake, fmic, cams, turboback) on 93 octane to produce around 365-375whp on our mustang dyno at 25psi with this turbo. (stock evo IX baselines at 225-230). The BBK Full is a compressor and turbine upgrade that allows for a little more room in the hp/tq department and has shown to be a 15-25whp and 15-25 wtq gain over the LITE version. Stay tune..

Adjustable Fender bracket
Previously i had place a bracket in between the chassis and the fender to stretch it out and get my 17 x 9.5 +12 wheels to fit.
I decided to go a step further over the week end by creating this adjustable bracket. Now i can stretch it further without the hassle of removing the fenders, adjust some nuts and viola!!... Hardware Required Pieces Assembled Fender with Adjustable brackets and modified brackets at the bottom.

SE37K on Car
Threw on my old tyres on the wheels and wanted a look see of how it goes...
personally, im not too satisfied, wanted something more aggressive looking for something that is 9.5 +12, tyres a little too stretched, but wt 255 tyres might need wider guard modification or something off the shelves... ill think about it....

Front Fender Flared
Sunday, September 13, 2009
Just an update on the front fenders...
simple mod bracket to push the fender further, looks good for me, kinda getto, might not be too some others taste, but definately a cheaper solution to wider guards.

Tow Hook came in the mail today...
While awaiting the rest of the parts to arrive, i decided to strip the car and plan on where i will place the Tow Hook when i realise i am missing the crash beam located in front of the intercooler....
New Front Lip
Wednesday, September 9, 2009
Just installed a new front lip a couple of days back, decided to go with Varis and in plastic so i wouldnt get the previous carbon fibre splitter problems.
Personally i prefer the DoLuck Lip as it actually flows with the lines of the EVO 8 really nicely but with the Varis lip, the front of the car actually sits a little higher giving me more freeplay to lower the car further if i needed to.
